Two shapes. One texture. Limited to only 50 numbered editions, the Hammer Side Table is a square on a cylinder—as simple as a form gets—until the hand gets to work. Its surface came out of months of carving studies in the studio: test block after test block, chasing the cut that would give a flat, beautiful piece of walnut a skin. Hundreds of gouge marks, each one a decision. Simplicity with definition. Texture that earns its place.
EDITION & INSPIRATION– Only 50 numbered editions worldwide– Born from a series of carving studies—the method was found by hand, in walnut, before the table was drawn
DESIGN & PURPOSE– A side table for beside a chair, a bed or a bath—small enough to live anywhere– A study in restraint: the form stays quiet so the surface can speak– Made to be touched—the base invites the hand the way the top invites a glass
SIGNATURE DETAILS– Cylindrical base hand-carved with a gouge, every facet cut individually, no two alike– Square top with a deep, clean edge—smooth where the base is rough– The carved texture steps up onto the top's end grain, so the two halves share one language
